There is a lot of confusion surrounding our field. Hiring a real estate agent is one of the toughest things you may ever do. Regardless of whether you hire me or not - I want to do you a favor I know you'll look back on and thank me for.

I want to give you 6 things you absolutely, positively must have in any real estate agent you hire:

One: They must have the backing of a National company that provides the latest tools, training, marketing and support in a professional environment. The real estate industry has become too complex to rely on anyone else.

Two: That agent must have the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation. This certification means the agent you've chosen has the most up-to-date skills and tools for helping you get the absolute best location, price and terms for your new home!

Three: They must have years of experience! You want an agent who is a true veteran of lots of different types of real estate transactions. Be very careful about trusting the biggest financial decision of your life to a rookie... I know this sounds harsh - but let them experiment on their family and friends before you trust them to handle your transaction. They must have a track record of success before you should hire them.

Four: Choose an agent who is originally from the Williamsburg area and understands how things got the way they are and... just as importantly... where things are going! It's hard to step into an area and understand why things are a certain way, which areas are experiencing growth and which may be slowing down. An agent who has ALWAYS been local understands the character of the area better than anyone else and can help you see Williamsburg through an experienced set of eyes.

Conservatively speaking my time is worth $100 to $150 per hour.
